Taiwan International Space Port (TASTI) to Launch on November 8, Gathering Over 3,500 Participants from 18+ Countries

The 3rd edition of the nation’s benchmark event, the Taiwan International Space Port (TASTI 2026), will take place from November 8 to 11 at ICC Tainan. The Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) stated that this year’s event is expected to attract over 3,500 professionals from more than 18 countries, along with over 75 domestic and international exhibiting companies, demonstrating strong international momentum in the space industry.

 

TASA issued a press release today noting that under the guidance of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), TASTI 2026 is co-hosted by TASA and the Tainan City Government. The event aims to integrate resources across government, industry, academia, and research sectors to create a premier platform for global space communication.

 

TASTI 2026 integrates academic symposia with international organizational meetings, running concurrently with the space industry exhibition, TASTI EXPO (November 8–10). A “Public Day” is scheduled for the first day, opening free registration to the general public. This edition also joins forces with the 15th Nano-Satellite Symposium (NSAT+) and the 9th Asia-Oceania Space Weather Alliance (AOSWA) Workshop to foster cross-border exchanges.

 

TASA highlighted that with the acceleration of global space activities and the rapid rise of commercial space endeavors, space infrastructure has become a crucial pillar of resilience. Centered on the theme “Trust in Space, Resilience on Earth,” TASTI 2026 addresses global focus on safe, reliable, and sustainable space systems. By integrating scientific research, technology development, and industrial applications, the event highlights Taiwan’s role and potential in the global space landscape.

 

The forum program includes 23 topical sessions spanning three major tracks: space industry, technology, and policy/affairs, alongside dedicated embassy and foreign mission forums. Beyond satellite communications, application services, and space safety, discussions will feature cutting-edge technologies such as communication chips, edge AI computing, and quantum encryption, extending into commercial space innovation, startups, and talent development.

 

The sessions will also use NASA’s 32 key technology gaps—identified for enabling long-term lunar presence—as a framework to assess current space technology bottlenecks, examining Taiwan’s industrial strategies, academic research, and policy directions.

 

The TASTI EXPO will expand its scale with five thematic zones: Supply Chain, Satellite Applications, Space Testing & Verification, Space Education, and National Pavilions, driving international industrial matchmaking and collaboration opportunities.

 

Co-organizers for TASTI 2026 bridge government agencies and industry leaders, including the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of the Interior, Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Cloud Computing & IoT Association in Taiwan (CIAT), and Taiwan Space Industry Development Association (TSIDA).
