The 2026 Tainan Automation Machinery & Smart Manufacturing Show is taking place from today through May 17 at ICC Tainan. Featuring 146 exhibiting companies across 500 booths, the event showcases industrial resilience and smart manufacturing capabilities. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che attended the opening ceremony, emphasizing that many of Tainan’s traditional industries are hidden champions. He expressed hope that the exhibition would highlight Tainan’s industrial prowess, facilitate order matching, and inject fresh momentum into Southern Taiwan’s manufacturing sector.

Mayor Huang stated that manufacturing is a crucial link in the global supply chain. Facing challenges brought by shifts in the global economic and trade environment, the machinery industry as a whole is under operational pressure; nevertheless, domestic industries continue to display high resilience, steadily driving operation and transformation. He added that the municipal government team will continue to assist enterprises with digital transformation, securing central government resources to promote the development of local traditional and emerging industries while guiding industrial upgrades.

Mayor Huang highlighted that Tainan is not only home to the semiconductor industry but also to precision industries and many hidden champions in traditional sectors, such as auto parts, optical equipment, and precision machinery. By hosting this precision machinery expo in Tainan, he hopes to showcase the strength of Southern Taiwan’s traditional industry and warmly welcomes visitors to Tainan.

The Tainan Economic Development Bureau explained that the Tainan Automation Machinery & Smart Manufacturing Show is the largest professional annual automation machinery expo in Southern Taiwan. With long-term support from machine tool manufacturers, local distributors, and related industries, the event enters its 30th year, promising once again to serve as a vital platform for equipment procurement, technical exchange, and business matchmaking for Southern Taiwan’s manufacturing sector.

This year, 146 companies are showcasing across 500 booths. Among them, the Metal Processing Machinery Zone accounts for 280 booths—representing 56% of the total event scale. Through sustained industry backing, the exhibition has grown steadily over the years, becoming one of Southern Taiwan’s most professional and influential automation expos, playing a key role in promoting smart manufacturing and industrial upgrades. The Bureau will continue to guide the sector toward low-carbon and smart manufacturing goals.

The Economic Development Bureau noted that this year’s expo focuses on smart manufacturing, automated processing equipment, and industrial application solutions. Serving as a platform for new product launches, brand exposure, business networking, and cluster effects, the event helps enterprises expand into new markets to achieve win-win outcomes.
