Remarkable Overseas Expansion Results in Japan; Relay Deployment for Industrial Assembly and Smart Logistics Opportunities
Jul 13, 2026
The Tainan City Government Economic Development Bureau continues to assist local enterprises in expanding into international markets. Leading eight featured vendors from the city to participate in the 2026 Tokyo International Gift Show, the bureau actively opened up overseas business opportunities. According to post-exhibition evaluations from participating vendors, the event is expected to create NT$228.33 million in potential business opportunities within one year.
To pass on overseas expansion experience like a torch, the city government held an achievement sharing session on the 13th, inviting participating vendors Han Guo Fang, C-U-See, and Jin Hui Industrial to exhibit featured products and share overseas expansion results and market exchange experiences in Japan. Simultaneously, it announced the official launch of recruitment for the “2026 Taiwan International Assembly & Smart Logistics Expo (ASLE),” demonstrating the city government’s ongoing effort to assist enterprises in “going out” through international exhibitions while “bringing buyers in” through professional international trade shows, building Tainan into a vital hub connecting to global markets.
Mayor Huang Wei-che stated that facing increasingly fierce competition in global markets, actively expanding overseas is a key factor for enterprises to enhance competitiveness. Tainan possesses a comprehensive and diverse industrial foundation, ranging from traditional crafts, food, tea gifts, and eco-friendly products to semiconductors, smart manufacturing, and automated equipment, all exhibiting high market potential and international competitiveness.
The city government continuously assists enterprises in grasping international trends and connecting with global markets through multi-faceted measures, including participating in international exhibitions, business matchmaking, overseas channel connections, and market expansion. On the other hand, it also actively hosts international professional exhibitions in Tainan, inviting overseas buyers to Taiwan for exchanges and procurement, forming a dual-track expansion strategy of “going out and bringing in,” allowing more high-quality Tainan brands to establish a firm foothold on the international stage while continuously elevating the international visibility and competitive strength of Tainan’s industries.
Chang Ting-yuan, Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau, stated that exhibitors highly praised the pre-exhibition guidance, venue planning, and buyer matchmaking mechanisms provided by the city government, which effectively enhanced brand exposure and business negotiation outcomes. During the achievement sharing session, the three participating vendors also shared their experience in expanding into Japan. “C-U-See” utilized eco-friendly materials such as rice husks, tea leaves, and carbon labels to produce non-toxic customized stationery, attracting buyers with a natural tea fragrance experience; “Jin Hui Industrial” pioneered a two-in-one dumbbell and hand-grip product featuring anti-slip and washable characteristics, attracting buyers for on-site trial; “Han Guo Fang” integrated traditional Chinese medicine elements into chocolate and throat lozenges, turning around the public’s stereotype of traditional medicine bitterness through taste testing, which received high acclaim from buyers.
Vendors stated that participating in the exhibition delegation with the city government not only allowed them to master international market trends, but also deepened their understanding of overseas buyers’ demand for high-quality, eco-friendly, sustainable, and multi-functional products, boosting their confidence in expanding overseas and once again demonstrating the international competitiveness of Tainan brands.
The Economic Development Bureau pointed out that in recent years, the city government’s delegation-leading efforts overseas have yielded fruitful results. From 2019 to June 2026, the city government has led a cumulative total of 121 city vendors overseas, facilitating 968 physical matchmaking sessions with 181 international buyers to expand cooperation networks, with cumulative potential business opportunities created reaching NT$4.74 billion.
Carrying forward the achievements of international market expansion, the city government simultaneously announced that the “2026 Taiwan International Assembly & Smart Logistics Expo (ASLE)” will be held from October 28 to 30, 2026, at ICC Tainan. Focusing on the three main axes of industrial assembly, smart logistics, and smart manufacturing integration, domestic and international industry peers are cordially invited to actively participate.
Mayor Huang Wei-che stated that Tainan has long been an important manufacturing stronghold in Taiwan, featuring the Southern Taiwan Science Park, Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City, and comprehensive industrial park clusters, gathering key industries such as semiconductors, electronics, precision machinery, metal processing, food processing, biotech pharmaceuticals, and auto parts. Driven by central government policies and continuous corporate investment in recent years, the manufacturing industry has developed vigorously, leading to a rapid surge in demand for industrial assembly, automation equipment, smart logistics, and supply chain integration technologies, which also lays an important foundation for Tainan to develop international professional exhibitions.
Chang Ting-yuan, Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau, stated that ASLE does not merely display the latest technologies, but also hopes to serve as an important platform assisting enterprises in expanding overseas markets. Currently, the European Union is vigorously driving investments in smart manufacturing, factory automation, smart logistics, digital transformation, and low-carbon manufacturing through the NextGenerationEU plan totaling over 700 billion euros, driving rapid growth in demand for related equipment and total solutions. This exhibition will also host the “Next Generation EU Match-making” one-on-one business matchmaking session, inviting Eastern European buyers to Taiwan to help Taiwanese enterprises directly tap into European industrial upgrade business opportunities and expand international cooperation blueprints.
