To implement the nation’s multi-core development and balanced Taiwan policy, “2026 Balance Taiwan Week” grandly opened for three consecutive days starting from the 16th at ICC Tainan. The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) created the thematic pavilion “Future Orbit—From Space Exploration to Sustainable Living” for this exhibition, which not only exhibits a 1:2 scale physical model of an orbital rocket measuring approximately 13 meters long, but also allows visitors to hands-on operate the internationally renowned PYXIS robot, demonstrating how Taiwan’s scientific research strength moves “from the laboratory into daily life.”
In this “2026 Balance Taiwan Week,” the NSTC, the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), Dayeh University, and National Nanke International Experimental High School jointly created the “Future Orbit—From Space Exploration to Sustainable Living” thematic pavilion, inviting student teams like “CC Rocket” to share rocket competition results, while concurrently displaying PYXIS robot interactive experiences, microalgae power generation, and other sustainable technology solutions.
North Satellites, South Rockets! Tainan Chia-Chi Senior High School “CC Rocket” Demonstrates Southern Aerospace Potential.
In the “Space Rocket” exhibition zone, a 1:1 rocket model built by the “CC Rocket” team from National Tainan Chia-Chi Senior High School is displayed on site.
Chen Shou-reng, leader of “CC Rocket,” stated that after seeing competition information for the “2026 Rocket Taiwan Cup” last year, they decided to assemble a team to take on the challenge. Ultimately, 12 like-minded partners gathered to dive into research; they not only successfully advanced to the national top 13 finals in the High School 1K Group, but were also the only high school team from Tainan to qualify.
He emphasized that the team’s defining feature is its commitment to the “All MIT” (Made in Taiwan) spirit: “We wanted to verify whether Taiwan has the capability to achieve fully autonomous R&D, starting from small rockets to prepare for larger orbital rockets in the future.” Therefore, from materials to internal components, they sought support from local Taiwanese vendors.
Chen Shou-reng said that participating in this exhibition echoes the government’s development policy of “North Satellites, South Rockets,” aiming to let the outside world know that the south indeed has the capability to develop rockets, proving that the southern region’s potential in the aerospace industry can help Taiwan achieve more balanced development.
In addition, the most visually striking focus at the venue is a 1:2 scale physical model of an orbital rocket measuring approximately 13 meters long alongside key component displays, leading the public to understand up close the practical applications of space technology in fields such as communications and navigation, also becoming a popular check-in spot in the venue.
Nanke International Experimental High School PYXIS Robot Appears; Precise Ball Shooting Demonstrates “Smart Manufacturing” Strength.
Another major highlight of the exhibition is the “Smart Manufacturing” sector located between sustainability and space. The “FRC6998” robot school team from National Nanke International Experimental High School demonstrated their self-developed robot “PYXIS” on site. This robot performed remarkably in the 2026 season’s Mississippi Magnolia Regional event in the United States, not only capturing third place in the Alliance tournament, but also winning the second “Impact Award” in team history.
Instructor Tsai Wen-hung pointed out that PYXIS demonstrated autonomous ball picking and shooting capabilities surpassing human speed and accuracy during the competition. During the exhibition period, hands-on operational experiences were specially opened to the public, allowing visitors to feel the extraordinary capabilities of smart robots.
All-Age Science Popularization Plants Seeds of Science; Microalgae Power Generation Leads Net-Zero Living.
Dr. Chou Chung-chi, Director of the Disaster Prevention Research Center and Environmental Education Center at Dayeh University, who was responsible for the curation planning, stated that this exhibition centers on “Facing the Future, Sailing into Space.” Beyond cutting-edge aerospace, it integrates net-zero sustainability and smart manufacturing.
The exhibition zone specially plans a “Net-Zero Sustainability” sector, covering greenhouse gas monitoring, water resource management, and innovative “microalgae power generation” science popularization, translating complex scientific research achievements into language easily understood by the general public.
Chou Chung-chi emphasized that “All-Age Science Popularization” is the core value of this exhibition. The teaching materials in the zone were deeply adjusted for different age groups; from elementary school students to senior citizens, all can receive education tailored in depth to their comprehension levels. To enhance interactivity, the zone hosts “DIY hands-on” workshops every morning and afternoon, allowing adults and children to participate in scientific experiments together and inspiring their interest in science through hands-on activities.

Today, the CHO Forum was also held, bringing together CHOs from multinational semiconductor giants and senior executives from international executive search firms for a deep dialogue on “Regional Talent Exploration x AI Empowerment Strategy x Future Talent Layout,” hoping to highlight Balance Taiwan’s core appeal regarding talent.
On the 17th, British scholars will share how urban-rural integration drives national balanced development, as well as how listed companies can co-create sustainable value with local revitalization enterprises.
