The forum will bring together elite representatives from industry, government, academia, and research, featuring AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su and Acer Chair and CEO Jerry Shen as co-hosts of the keynote “AI-Century Dialogue.”
As a hub for Taiwan’s semiconductor industry, Tainan has recently attracted leading global tech companies, strengthening the region’s industrial ecosystem. Dr. Lisa Su, a native of Tainan, returns to her hometown for this significant occasion, with speculation suggesting that AMD may follow competitors by increasing investments in Taiwan. The 2024 Southern Semiconductor Forum – Southern Silicon Island: Talent Sustainability, co-organized by the Tainan City Government, Southern Taiwan Science Park Administration, National Cheng Kung University Semiconductor Academy, SEMI International Semiconductor Industry Association, GIS Group, and the Greater Tainan Convention and Exhibition Center, represents a collective effort to propel innovation in the southern semiconductor industry.
