Greater Tainan Convention and Exhibition Center Honored with Award 🏆 Commitment to Sustainability Continues

The Sustainable Exhibition Award, organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, aims to encourage Taiwan’s exhibition industry to implement sustainable ESG practices, conserve resources, and reduce carbon emissions to achieve sustainability goals.

This year, 35 projects competed for the “Sustainability Implementation Award” and the “Carbon Reduction Action Award.” Following two months of detailed review by the judging panel, the Greater Tainan Convention and Exhibition Center was awarded First Place in the Sustainability Implementation Award!

The center not only adheres to its Sustainable Development Statement and Principles, as well as the ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management System, but also continues to develop the #GreaterSouthernExhibitionExchangePlatform. Its architecture and environment reflect a green, low-carbon vision, creating a safe, convenient, energy-efficient, and sustainable urban image.
Highlights of the Achievements:

🛠️ Innovative Roofing Design:
The exhibition hall roof uses high-performance steel cable trusses, reducing construction material usage by 20%, equivalent to cutting carbon emissions absorbed annually by 35,000 trees.

☀️ Extensive Solar Panel Installation:
Large solar panel installations on the exhibition and conference hall roofs generate enough energy annually to power 1,318 households.

🌬️ Energy-Saving Air Conditioning:
The energy-efficient HVAC system reduces electricity consumption by 35%.

🌳 Green Landscaping:
The surrounding area is home to 34,375 plants, with 77% being native Taiwanese species, achieving a total carbon sequestration equivalent to 7,060 tons.

This recognition underscores the center’s dedication to sustainable development and highlights its leadership in the green innovation of the exhibition industry.
