TAINAN, TAIWAN — The inaugural “Formosa Wine & Dine: International Gastro-Party” is set to make a spectacular debut at the East Plaza of ICC Tainan from December 12 to 14. This free-entry event invites the public to immerse themselves in an exotic world of fine wines and gourmet cuisine, featuring over 80 premium brands during the most festive season of the year.

 

The festival features themed international zones showcasing renowned brands and flavors from Taiwan, Japan, France, Germany, and Australia. Attendees can embark on a global tasting journey—from refined Japanese sake and elegant French wines to bold German beers, distinctive Australian vintages, and innovative Taiwanese craft brews. Beyond the tastings, the event will highlight the rich culinary cultures and terroirs of various global cities.

 

Complementing the drinks is a curated selection of winter delicacies. Highlights include signature dishes from Michelin Bib Gourmand-recommended vendors, exclusive creations from the Oddity Food Truck, and award-winning breads crafted by Shih-Chun Yang (Brave Bakery), a champion of the World Christmas Bread Competition (Panettone World Cup).

 

The festivities extend beyond the palate with an immersive nighttime party atmosphere. 44 Bit Records will host a DJ lineup, kicking off Friday (Dec 12) with the groovy rhythms of Disco, Funk, and Soul, followed by a high-energy set on Saturday (Dec 13) for all “party animals” to raise their glasses and dance.

 

In collaboration with the Taiwan Street Art & Culture Development Association, the event will also feature a rotating lineup of street performers, including diabolo, interactive juggling, flair bartending, fire dancing, and a special performance by World Yo-Yo Champion Yang Yuan-Ching.

 

For a touch of romance under the stars, the Starry Sky Cinema will screen The Trip to Italy on Saturday evening and Chef on Sunday. Adding to the visual landscape is a large-scale installation, “UJU—The Mountain Giant,” by artist Chen Pu, the creator of the viral “Alley Niau” IP from the Creative Expo Taiwan.
