2026 Tainan Autoshow Grand Opening: Exhibition Synergy Ignites Regional Economic Prosperity
Jan 29, 2026
TAINAN, TAIWAN — The 2026 Tainan Autoshow officially kicked off today (Jan 29) at ICC Tainan, marking a major milestone for Southern Taiwan’s automotive sector. This year’s exhibition features over 100 exhibitors and 520 booths, reaching full venue capacity. As the first major automotive event of the early spring, the show serves as a premier platform for top automotive, motorcycle, and heavy machinery brands to debut their 2026 models alongside the latest components and aftermarket accessories.
Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-cher stated during the opening that the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) industry generates significant indirect benefits by stimulating surrounding businesses and local economies. He emphasized that the city’s proactive support and integration of private resources have successfully fostered high-scale, sustainable exhibition brands. “After three years of government subsidies and mentorship, the Tainan Autoshow has developed the capacity for independent private-sector operation,” Mayor Huang noted, highlighting the city’s maturing professional exhibition capabilities.
Chang Ting-yuan, Director-General of the Bureau of Economic Development, pointed out that now in its fourth year, the Tainan Autoshow presents a comprehensive look at the industry—from local supply chains and two-wheeler sectors to new vehicle types and lifestyle applications. This policy-driven support has built a mature “industrial ecosystem” that showcases Tainan’s technological innovation and its status as a critical automotive hub in Southern Taiwan. Furthermore, this year’s show integrates with the Tainan Shopping Festival, offering visitors double lucky draw entries for on-site purchases, effectively turning industrial achievements into a driver for urban consumption.
The Bureau of Economic Development added that the four-day event is more than just a trade show; it is a professional exchange platform blending industry trends, camping lifestyles, modification aesthetics, and biker culture. A highlight of the weekend will be a massive heavy motorcycle gathering, featuring nearly 400 bikes and 18 elite clubs, including Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle.
The exhibition also features diverse stage performances, brand promotions, and interactive lucky draws. Visitors can receive lucky draw tickets for every NT$500 spent (up to 10 tickets), with prizes ranging from dashcams and hotel vouchers to premium helmets.
